If pets could brush their own teeth, we’d all have one less thing to worry about.
Unfortunately, dental care usually falls to owners – and it’s one of the most commonly forgotten parts of pet health.
Why Teeth Matter
Dental disease can cause pain, infections and tooth loss. Bacteria from the mouth can even affect the heart, liver and kidneys. And no, bad breath isn’t just “one of those things”.
Signs to Watch For
- Bad breath
- Red or bleeding gums
- Difficulty eating
- Pawing at the mouth
What You Can Do
Brushing your pet’s teeth regularly is the gold standard. Special pet toothpaste (never human toothpaste!) and a gradual approach make it easier than you might expect.
Dental chews, toys and specific diets can also help – but they’re not a replacement for brushing.
If you’re unsure where to start, our team can show you how to brush safely and comfortably.
